hi. i keep coming back to this site coz there's always something new here. I suggested before if we could put some sort of rating system per game, is this still viable? Also, i'd suggest putting a permanent link to this site in the RSS feeds somehow

peter fryers — 18 April 2008, 19:18

brilliant site, thankyou. I don't know what i'd do without these free rules

You would probably have more time on your hands for non-wargaming activities.

Ian Winterbottom — 18 April 2008, 09:43

Pete, you are still doing a fantastic job. The site improves all the time. Everytime I think I have enough ideas to keep me going for ages, you come along and give me another! I am still soloing with those Aerial War rules, thanks! Ian

Thanks Ian, I'm glad your still using a free set. Shows they can be useful!

Kaptain — 03 April 2008, 06:58

As I have Panzertroops on my home page, I can tell you its not for "plastic soldiers". Heritage tried to make a group of ww2 15mm figs that didnt' take off. The rules were good for up to 1/72 so thats what we use. Some of the figs and vehicles are metel or die cast.

Thanks for that information

Hi I have just found your site as I'm trying to learn more about miniature wargames; I see you have plenty of links to other blogs as well. That's cool! Bookmarked, plenty to read. I have also found a good place (for me at least) that shows everything available on auctions related to wargame miniatures, I think I'll be able to get some good deal off auction to get started on a budget: http://www.wargamescenery.co.uk/USA Thank you for the info and links on this site man.

You'll soon find it will take over your life, enjoy the hobby!

Snoopy — 06 January 2008, 15:43

Brilliant site, I always keep coming back to this site and finding fabulous rules which are easy to read and customize. Plus, if I'm stuck for ideas of a new scenerio, there are always hints and cool ideas. Amazing site! This site is the best one I've found so far that has so many rules! From the Ancients era right through to sci-fi and fantasy!! Well Done! By the way, I'm from New Zealand!

When I think I can't find any more free rules someone sends me more. Glad you've found me down under.

Stef — 05 January 2008, 16:53

I know your site since a long time, it's always cool to find rules on every subjects and to contribute to the life of the amateur game. Great site! :) Stef, France

Excellent site. I've found plenty of cool games. In particuler BLITZ london Firefighting 1940-41 by Jim Wallman. A friend of mine said there was a scenario to go with the game. Any additional information would be appreciated Thanks, Gunther OgreMkVI@aol.com

I can't find any information on a scenario but if I do I will certainly post it. (Join the mailing list on the front page to keep up with additions).

Mole — 17 October 2007, 17:49

Thanks for putting loads of free wargames rules in one place! Your site is great and i love visiting it and browsing through the rules.

Its good to find that the site is useful and easy to use.

Chuck — 09 September 2007, 23:06

Always an enjoyable visit! Great site, and thanks for providing this service!

Thank you

The Board Game Geek — 06 September 2007, 15:06

Great site. I like how the war games rules are separated into different periods. Would it be possible to make an alternative list of the war games rules separated into scale/size such as number of units involved per side and the actual dimensions required for each unit?

Wow that would be a big task! I haven't read most of the rules myself, this would require looking at each one and categorising it. Where possible in the descriptions I try to state the size of the game.

Los — 04 September 2007, 18:22

In too wanted to give my eternal thanks to the great service you do here for us gamers. I have been pulling and playing rules off of here for years. Thank you!

It's a pleasure. I'm glad you find the site useful.

Outstanding site, Pete. I literally check it almost daily, given the frequent updates and the sheer volume of quality rules. Keep it up!

I never dreamed it would be this big but there seems no sign of things slowing down soon!

Jonas Susara — 26 June 2007, 09:56

This is one of my all-time, favorite wargaming (and rpg)site! Thanks for creating and maintaining a great idea. Are there any plans of adding symbols/classifications to the games, like: skirmish or mass, simple or complex, air or land or sea or space, etc...?

Not had this request before, but I'll bear that one in mind.

Michael Maggs — 22 June 2007, 17:18

Ian Winterbottom — 19 June 2007, 12:41

Hi Pete, you go from strength to strength, the4 RMail is absolutely fantastic, I am finding so many things I like I am running out of CDs1 It is the width of choice I find fascinating, you have something for everyone, and all of it totally free! Like one of your correspondents below, I have been making up my own rules and games for years, but have never seen anything like this lot! Thanks a lot, Mate,

Yes that has been far popular than I ever thought it would. At one point we were one of the top 17 feeds for r-mail.

Kittu — 18 June 2007, 18:17

This is a great Web site. In the Guest book anybody can write anything. Is there a way you can have more control of the messages in this section? May be email it to you first and then only approved messages appear.

I regularly check entries and delete those that are irrelevant. By using the 3 figure code that has cut out alot of Spam.

Matt — 13 May 2007, 23:51

I have written my own rules since childhood - but this is the best rules resource I have found in nearly 30 years of playing wargames - fine effort, keep it up.

Thanks Matt and if you ever need a place to publish your rules just contact me

becko — 05 May 2007, 16:00
