Hundred Years War Soldier Database
Sunday, August 2, 2009 by pete284A website detailing the lives of 250,000 soldiers that served in the Hundred Years War has gone online. It has been set up by researchers at Southampton and Reading Universities.
The files relate to soldiers who served between 1369 and 1453 and amazingly include salary and sickness records.
The Medieval Soldier website also includes information about soldiers who served at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415.
Records relating to individuals are also included like John Judde :
Merchant of London and Master of the Kings Ordinance. Gathered together from research into his anscestry by family historian David Judd, we are treated to a career spanning the end of the Hundred Years War and the beginning of the Wars and the Roses.
Other specialist areas are also looked at. Where I live in North East Wales has a special section:
We visit North East Wales for a profile of Welsh involvement in English armies during this period.
A must visit if your interested in the Medieval period.
